My Better Half!

As most of you know, this is a picture of my husband Brandon. He is an amazing husband for so many different reasons and I would like to dedicate today's post to him and list why I think he is truly "MY BETTER HALF!"
1. I couldn't be the wife or mom that I am without his help.
2. He is always offering to take or pick up EG when he can.
3. He is a very loving and attentive father.
4. He is very good looking!
5. He has a very tender heart.
6. He has whole heartedly supported my running addiction by encouraging me and offering to keep the kids while I run for hours at a time.
7. He loves the LORD and is the spiritual leader of our home.
8. He offers to rub my back when he knows that I have had a hard day.
9. He is a great friend to others and is always there to lend a helping hand.
10. He loves me unconditionally!!!!!
Thank you Lord for blessing me with the BEST HUSBAND EVER!
I love you babe!

Poe and Nana Della

This weekend we had the great pleasure of hosting Brandon's dad and his wife Della at our house for a four day visit. We spent most of the weekend just lazy and enjoying each other's company with a little bit of wii, a trip to the National Corvette Museum and a little Nascar thrown into the mix. I think Poe and Nana Della enjoyed the wii and wii fit so much that they are heading to Lubbock as soon as they get home to pick one up for their house. I am glad to know that we have in some way rubbed off on them. Even though it was through a very addictive video game system! We are going to miss y'all very much and will be counting down the days until our Brown Reunion over the Fourth of July! Noah loves his Poe!

Who needs a Corvette when you got a John Deer?

Anyone need a pit crew?
Does anyone remember when gas was this cheap?
I never thought I wanted a sports car until I sat behind the wheel of one!

Noah didn't want to take pictures before Poe and Nana Della left.

We will miss you! Thanks for the visit!

Valentine's Night

On Saturday, some of my girlfriends and I sent our husbands out on a Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt! They started with a clue telling them to meet a buddy at our local Day Spa. I think they were all a little scared as to what was going to happen once they got there but they played along and were pleasantly surprised that they only found another clue there and not a pedicure appointment. The many clues that they received kept them busy from 2:30 until about 6:00 when they finally headed to Cabana (a restaurant in Nashville) to find their final prize--which was obviously their beautiful wives! In the end we all had a fabulous time and were so thankful for terrific husbands and amazing friends!

60th Wedding Anniversary

Today I have the great pleasure of being in Breckenridge, Texas with my grandparents for their 60th wedding anniversary! What a blessing it is to be able to celebrate this awesome occasion with them. The only sad part is that Brandon and the kids were unable to come with me. Brandon and I really wanted the kids to be here and participate in this huge accomplishment, which is so rare. We want to learn all their secrets so we can pass this legacy on to our children.
Thank you Mema and Poppy for sharing a liftime of love and memories with us. The two of you have set the bar high and given us a great model to follow. I pray that Brandon and I are able to have a marriage as focused on the Lord as yours has been. We love you!!!!!!

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer one, but two. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Matthew 19:5-6

The Daisy's go Green

Last night was Emma Grace's Daisy meeting and as a special treat they had a special visitor from our local environmental council come and speak to them about "How to go Green." Emma Grace soaked up every word and was very excited about becoming a good citizen by helping to take care of our community. Her first project is to attend a Tree Planting Event on February 28th at one of our local parks. I am so proud of my little Daisy!!!

Emma Grace's Princess Room

For the past couple of weeks, I have been busy trying to create the perfect princess room for Emma Grace! After a lot of persuading, I finally talked her out of Sleeping Beauty Pink and we compromised on Apple Green with a Rose Pink stripe. She loves it and told me that she really feels like a princess when she is cuddled up in her bed! We still have a few final touches to add but here is what it looks like so far.

I wish I could sleep in a castle bed,
but something tells me that Brandon won't go for that!
