My Burning Bush!

Recently, I have been trying to decide what God wants me to do with Emma Grace next year! I was not sure if I should send her to preschool for one more year, home-school her, send her to private school or just enroll her in our local public school. It was starting to overwhelm me.
Well, everything started to change last week. It started on Monday night when my very sweet friend Chantelle had told me that she had been praying for my decision and felt like God told her to tell me that I didn't need to agonize over the future (which is what I was doing with regards to holding her back because of her age). That he was in charge of that and he would take care of Emma Grace. What a relief!!! But I still needed some guidance on where to send her to kindergarten. All of my options are excellent choices but where did God want her. Then on Tuesday I was reminded that fall registration was due at Emma Grace's preschool and I started to PANIC! If I wasn't sending her to preschool next year what was I doing. I immediately started to cry out to God and ask Him what I should do. Where did He want Emma Grace!!! I left her preschool and drove straight to our local elementary school to check things out. I felt good about the school, as I always have, but I didn't feel at peace yet. So, I called the private school and asked them a million questions ( I am sure they think I am crazy) until I was satisfied that it was also a fabulous school. But still I did not have a peace about either one! That is when I started pleading with God to give me a burning bush! I needed Him to make His will known to me in a bold and unmistakable way. After that I needed some wise counsel so I called my good friend Lori Leal and told her I was going to pick up the boys some happy meals and head to her house for some quality girl talk! She so sweetly agreed and I was off to McDonald's. After I order the happy meals for Noah, Aron and Jackson, I pulled up to the pay window where I was blown away by God's Love! The lady at the window informed me that the person in the car in front of me had bought my meal and then she handed me a card. The card said "Have a blessed day!" Location: The name of our local elementary school.
Now that is what I call a BURNING BUSH!

After I caught my breath, I read on to find out that it was a card designed to get the word out about a new church in our community that met at our local elementary school. The sweet lady in front of me was just trying to spread the message about God's love and in the process God used her in an unbelievable way! God is so good and he is just waiting for us to ask for his help and guidance!!! Give Him the chance to move mountains for you. He can do it!!!!!

Winnie the Pooh's Umbrella Blue

About a year and a half ago, I hired an interior designer to come in my home and help me pick out paint colors for all the rooms. She did a fantastic job and pretty quick after that I hired some painters to come in and paint the entire downstairs and the upstairs hallway. Well, I have finally decided to try and complete the rest of the house. I was so excited to go and get paint until, Emma Grace and Noah informed me that they did not like the colors I picked out for their rooms. After a lot of discussion and pleading (from me for them to change their minds and pick my colors) we are now painting Noah's room Winnie the Pooh's Umbrella Blue. I finished the first wall today and will try and finish the rest by Wednesday. I will let you know how it goes! Until then, try and imagine what Emma Grace's room will look like in Sleeping Beauty Pink. She has asked for purple polka dots on top of the pink but I vetoed that idea pretty quick. Wish me luck!

From Snow on Wednesday to 70 on Sunday

Today was such a beautiful day! It gave us all Spring Fever. We spent most of the afternoon outside working in the flower beds and playing with the neighbors. I loved the warmer weather but I am afraid it isn't here to stay!

Flashback Friday: Gig'em Aggies!

One of the most important things Brandon and I have to do as parents is to teach our kids which Texas University is acceptable (A&M) and which ones are not (all the others).

Believing God part 2

This week, our study was canceled due to a snow day. I was so disappointed and can't wait until our next meeting when I can see how the homework spoke to the ladies in my group. We have been working on Believing God can do what He says He can do. My favorite verse out of this section is Mark 9:23 "Everything is possible for him who believes." I don't know about you but that verse gives me such hope! It reminds me that my God is HUGE and he can do anything. For those of you that don't know, Brandon and I would love to have a third child. We feel so blessed to have Emma Grace and Noah but we don't believe that our family is complete yet. So for now, we are trusting that God will answer that prayer. The thing to remember however, is that sometimes God may prioritize the faith required to continue trusting Him when we don't get what we ask over the faith required to receive it. That is so hard for me right now but I will continue to trust and believe that my God can do ANYTHING!

Our Snow Melted!

Okay, by the time we finally made it outside to play, all the snow had melted. Instead of just standing outside freezing in the wind with no snow, which Noah was fine more than happy to do, we went to Cracker Barrel with some friends. What better way to enjoy the cold than to load up on some good southern calories and fat!!!
He is ready to play outside regardless of the temperature!

Papa, Nana and the Grandkids

While all the family was here we tried to get a picture of Papa and Nana with all six grandkids. As you can see, it wasn't as easy as it sounded! Jack Hudson is very unhappy and Emma Grace is getting squished done in the middle. It is kind of crazy but that pretty much sums up our week. All the kids had so much fun and we can't wait until June when we can do it all again at the beach.
