We made it!

Emma Grace and I officially made it through her first full day of kindergarten. I cannot tell you how much I missed her all day. Even Noah was ready to see her at 3:30 when we were waiting forever in the car line to pick her up. When it was finally our turn, I swooped Emma Grace up and gave her a big hug. As I was getting her situated in her car seat I asked her if she had a good day and she told me...
"Well, Mom, I got lost in the hallway. I wanted to cry but I didn't. Another little girl did and we were really scared. They were even calling for us over the loud speaker. Finally someone that knew we were lost found us and took us back to Mrs. S."
Not exactly what I expected but I have a feeling that nothing is going to be quite what I expected this year. Needless to say, she had a fabulous first day that was quite eventful and she can't wait until tomorrow! This is starting out to be one great adventure!

Kindergarten

Emma Grace went to school today for her "get to know the school and schedule" day. Her and four other students from her class will spend from 8:30am to 1:30pm learning the schedule and touring the school. She was so excited!!!
Me, on the other hand, could only focus on how she was way too little and that I wasn't ready for her to be gone for so long everyday! As we walked down the long school hallway I could feel myself tearing up and prayed that God would calm my heart and show me her excitement and joy. Well, he immediately answered. He reminded me of the "burning bush" he sent me (see old post titled Burning Bush) and an immediate peace came over me.
I know that God has big things planned for this little angel girl and I feel so blessed that He chose me to play a part in it.
Thank you Lord!

How do you take the pit out of an avocado?

Well, I can definitely tell you that you don't do it by stabbing it with a knife. As you can most certainly guess, that can lead to a number of bad conclusions and in my case that was three stitches in the palm of my hand. It could not have happened at a more inconvenient time either. We were on vacation in Pigeon Forge and had no clue were the ER was. Brandon had the kids at the pool with our neighbor and I was in the condo with our friends Nick and Dana. All I could say was, "It's bad, it's bad." While Dana kept saying, "I don't do first aid, I don't do first aid." When Brandon finally made it to this crazy scene and escorted me to the car all I could focus on was that there was most definitely shots in my future (7 numbing shots and 1 tetanus shot to be exact). In the end everything was fine and we wrapped up one eventful weekend with friends. I mean, what is a vacation without a trip to the ER?

The Princess Castle

We finally hung up the castle that Emma Grace got for her birthday today. It is so cute. Her and a little friend giggle for a good hour straight as they played in there this afternoon. Good Job Land of Nod (that is where we ordered it from)!

Emma Grace's 5th Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated Emma Grace's fifth birthday! It was a Pirate and Princess party and Emma Grace had a ball. All the boys wore eye patches and got plastic swords and the girls had tiaras and wands. Thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate our beautiful little girl!
Emma Grace and her Pirates and Princesses Cake!
All the boys made pirate hats and the girls made princess wands.
Emma Grace was too busy making sure everyone else was having fun to make a wand. I think she is a lot like her mom.
Even Daddy, the cook, got into the theme.
Pinata time was fun and scary all at the same time!
Everybody loved the cake!
We even had time to open some presents!

Flashback Friday: Emma Grace

In honor of Emma Grace's fifth birthday this weekend, I decided to dedicate flashback Friday to her this week! These are pictures from our trip to Disneyland. Emma Grace was 18 months old and ready for every adventure we put in front of her. Not much has changed. She still is very ready for every adventure, including kindergarten that starts in two weeks.
We loved princesses from the very beginning.
This was a month before I got pregnant with Noah.

Brandon and I had way more fun than she did!

We're Ready!

Emma Grace and Noah came downstairs today and informed me that they were ready to go! When I asked where they were going, Emma Grace proceeded to tell me that they were going school shopping (can you tell what we have been doing lately) and that she helped Noah get ready to leave. What Noah didn't know was that she put him in her socks and shoes.
Let's go shopping!
The socks even had a little bow detail on the back.
I think he was a little disturb when I informed him that he was wearing girls socks and shoes!

Nana and Papa's Visit

This week, my mom and dad came to visit early for Emma Grace's fifth birthday. We had so much fun! They were such a joy and made each one of us feel special and loved! We can't wait for their next visit. Emma Grace especially because Nana and Papa gave her a trip to Sweet and Sassy for some primping and to the mall for some new clothes. Emma Grace had a blast and can't wait until her and Nana can do it all again.
This is my favorite picture!
Can you tell that we had fun?
She was so excited about getting her hair cut and styled!
Can you see the excitement?
Nana hit the jackpot with her Birthday gift!
What you can't see is the whole thing is covered in gold glitter.
Where do you go after you have received a fabulous up-do? Well to the mall, of course, to pick out some beautiful clothes to match your amazing princess hair!
